3-Ingredient Dunked Donuts

Makes: 18

Hands-on time: 30 minutes

Hands-off time: 35 minutes

INGREDIENTS

2 cups self-raising flour, sifted

1 ¼ cups plain yoghurt

1 cup Illovo Smooth Chocolate Sauce, for drizzling and dipping

Oil, for frying

Serving suggestion:

Iced coffee

1. Add the self raising flour and yoghurt to a large mixing bowl and use a spatula to mix until the dough comes together.

2. Tip the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for 8 minutes, until smooth. Roll the dough into a thin log.

3. Add 4 cups of oil to a small pot and place over medium heat. Check the temperature of the oil using a wooden skewer. *Chef’s tip: the oil is ready when bubbles form around the wooden spoon or skewer.

4. Divide the dough into 18 evenly sized pieces by cutting the log using a sharp knife. Roll the dough pieces into round balls. Chef’s tip: Ensure the donuts are all the same size, about 1 tablespoon, otherwise their cooking times will differ!

5. Carefully place the donut balls in the heated oil. Cook for 6 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Chef’s tip: watch the donuts to ensure they don’t burn!

6. Once cooked, remove the donuts from the oil and drain on a plate lined with paper towel.

7. Allow the donuts to cool for 5 minutes before serving on a large serving platter with Illovo Smooth Chocolate Sauce. Serve alongside an iced coffee and ENJOY!
