INGREDIENTS
🍖 ¼ cup TABASCO® Sweet & Spicy Sauce
🍖 ¼ cup (56g) butter, melted
🍖 600g chicken or beef or quick-cooking vegetable cubes
🍖 1 tbsp braai spice
🍖 1 tsp each salt and pepper, optional
Serving suggestion:
Fresh parsley, finely chopped
METHOD
1. Place 8 skewers in a bowl of cold water. Set this aside to soak for 1 hour. *Chef’s Tip: Soaking the skewers in water stops them from burning when cooking.
2. Add the TABASCO® Sweet & Spicy Sauce and melted butter to a small mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.
3. Add the chicken or beef or vegetables to a large mixing bowl.
4. Add the braai spice, salt and pepper, if using, and mix until all the pieces are evenly coated in seasoning.
5. Pour half of the TABASCO® marinade over the seasoned meat or vegetables and use a spoon to mix until evenly coated.
6. Arrange the meat or vegetables onto the prepared skewers. *Chef’s Tip: For maximum flavour, the skewers can be prepared the night before!
7. Lightly grease a large pan or griddle pan on medium-high heat. Arrange the skewers, 4 at a time and cook for 10-15 minutes, turning and basting with the leftover marinade every 3 minutes. *Chef’s Tip: The skewers can also be prepared on the braai!
8. Arrange the skewers on a platter, garnish with fresh parsley, serve and ENJOY!
